In May I'll be graduating from The Pennsylvania State University and essentially I'll be looking for a job before starting grad/law school. In college, especially the school I go to when you are too dressed up you tend to stand out like a sore thumb because people usually go to class in sweats and a Penn State hoodie. Some people really don't have time to get dressed so they resort to Pajamas. We were socialized in college to dress as comfortable as we can. This ideology however will not pass in the real world. Whenever I go back to New York for recess, I look like a totally different person than how I am at school. At school I conform to the unofficial dress code because it's very comfortable and I don't feel pressured to look spectacular everyday, its not practical. At home my family will die if they see me in sweats every day and a hat on my head. Living in New York and growing up with the fashionable yet sometimes materialistic family I grew up in has many standards. Since I'm becoming this "professional" in a few months I wanted to revamp my style. If I'm going to have to wear suits I think it should be funky like the ones shown above. I feel like the office-ready outfits I wear should have some form of style. When I think of suits I have a horrible image of black long skirts and oversized blazers. I always told myself I would never sell my soul to suits but I'm getting older and as the days get closer to graduation this is seeming more and more like a reality. Looking on the runways and in certain stores suits are getting cuter and cuter. I love the pants ensemble, the cut of the blazer is so amazing and the pants paired with the wedges are chic. Chanel for their Spring 2011 collection paired wedges with this spectacular ensemble and words can't explain how amazing it looks. I guess suits aren't what they used to be, they can be fun and fashionable.
