Gianmarco Lorenzi, Pierre Hardy and Michael Kors, these designers know first hand that wedges and espadrilles will be the IT shoe for the summer. Michael Kors experiment with the flatform which is part platform part wedge, I've seen this style in many of my magazines and on the runway. Whereas other designers take the full blown bright color look at me now approach. I love that wedges is the fashion statement for the spring and summer. I bought my first pair last july and since then I've gotten 2 more. Wedges are amazing. They give height, sex appeal and you're more confident when you walk because unlike a heel there's not a huge possibility of falling on your face. Gravity is on your side with the wedge. I used to wear my wedges to my internship or to get togethers at my friends houses and it made me feel like a lady. Surprisingly, I also felt tall...These wedges are extremely high yet girly. I love how bright the colors are...you are sure to stand out at any event. Last summer I seen a woman walk on the train with a beige dress and espadrilles. She commanded so much attention because her shoes were amazing and gave her so much height, her legs were elongated and she just looked stunning. As a 21 year old, I'm so used to wearing Uggs or flipflops that venturing off trying to find other types of shoes is scary. However I cannot wear these types of comfort footwear for the rest of my life. The wedge is that medium between flats and heels. I know wedges are as high as heels but it doesn't demand that much thought when you walk like flats. I'm almost positive we are going to be seeing a lot of taller females this summer.
